windows 2008R2 freezing randomly
Hi,
Over monh I have had a number of windows 2008R2 servers freeze. We have 25 VMs with 2008 r2 but only 5 freeze. Machine is no pingable and no accessible, tools "not running". Before freeze I've notice CPU utilization and alert, after couple seconds machine freeze.
I use ESXi 5.5 and I sent vmware log to vmware support and nothing wrong.
Machines freeze randomly but one machine often freezes during oracle backup at the end.
I've checked lots of thinks. veeam backup related problems withs snapshots but machine without veeam backup freezes to.
This not svga problem I'v checked twice, driver was changed.
Also I've installed up to date vmware tools and still problem exist
Today I've turned of Nod32 antwyrius? maybe will help?
What I can check more? Maybe CBT switch of?
Pleas advise me
- vmware.log is attached. I've got crash of this server arround 7.05 CET
Thank You chris

Same here. Have several Windows 2008 / SBS 2011 machines very slow or freezing without apparent reason Others are doing well. I've resorted to just rebooting them every 24h, but this is a patch at best, surely not a solution...

Hi,
my collegues from windows team reported they have few Windows servers which seems to get veeery slow (and unsuable), without any reason. Seems similar like your problem. One was running lync (frontend?). I think they tried reinstalling this particular vm to win 2012.
We are running esxi 5.5 build 3116895
