Is there some sort of vMotion/Enhanced vMotion CPU compatibility tool in existence? Spreadsheet, webbtool?

Firstly apologies is this is a silly question I am a relatively newbie VMware user only just finished the "VMware vSphere, Install, Configure, Manage course and my exam is a couple of months away.

Within our environment we are unable to perform a hot-migrations from a cluster comprised of HP ProLiant BL 460c G1's to a cluster comprised of Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5670 @ 2.93GHz.  We get the error...

The virtual machine requires hardware features that unsupported or disabled on the target host:

* SSE4.2

Presumably this is because the family type is different but it would be nice to be able to provide definitive proof of this for the indeviduel attempting the hot migration.

So my question is does a tool/spread sheet/web tool exist for people planning to purchase new hosts or for those wanting greater detail on how to force compatibility using the CPUID Mask feature?

p.s I did warn you this could potentially be a total newb question

Yes if the leap is too far in generations it will fail.

EVC will address some of that.
