CD/DVD drive 1 (Connecting...) forever
Using ESXi 5.5 (managed by vCenter) with vSphere Client, after some amount of time, it becomes impossible to mount an .iso in a VM. After selecting the .iso, the CD drive icon just hangs forever with "CD/DVD drive 1 (Connecting...)". The only way around it is to exit the vSphere Client and log back in.
Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it? I've searched pretty extensively and I haven't found a solution to this problem.
- VMware KB: Cannot connect to the Client CD/DVD drive by using Passthrough IDE mode is not quite relevant (since we're not using Passthrough IDE mode)
- http://www.eversity.nl/blog/2012/05/connecting-a-local-iso-to-the-vm-in-the-vmware-vsphere-client-ha...isn't helpful, because we're already running the vSphere Client with UAC elevation
Network connectivity is solid. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
