Upgrading the Windows server of vCenter server
My vCenter server 6.0 is on a Server 2008R2 machine. While we're working on doing the actual vmware upgrades I'm thinking of doing an in-place Windows server upgrade to Server 2016 on this machine--mainly to reduce any other kind of migration and or installations of vCenter applications. I know in-place upgrades are not optimal, but with end-of-life looming I thought this might be a temporary solution. What do you guys think?

I think that makes almost no sense. Your goal at this point should be to decommission that Windows-based vCenter entirely by migrating to the vCSA. That kills two birds with one stone: Eliminates an ailing Windows Server 2008 R2 machine, and upgrades you to at least vCenter 6.5.

My understanding is that virtual appliance 6.7 has to be on something higher that Esxi6.0?

I don't know if that's the case. Regards, you could go to 6.5 and be fine.

Yes, but we have Horizon View 6.2.1 and vCenter 6.5 is not compatible with that. Not too sure what to upgrade first. Horizon or vCenter?

Horizon 7.1 is compatible with all updates of vSphere 6.5, and the upgrade order would be Horizon first and then vCenter second.
