VMK pingloss
Hi folks
I recently ran into the issue that we face ping loss on vmkernel port only.
My setup:
- Adapter: HPE 10Gb SFP+ BCM57412
- Firmware: 218.0.166.0
- Driver : bnxtnet
- Driver Version : 218.0.38.0
- Switch Hardware: Cisco C9300
The vmkernel port group was configured in standby/active configuration. So physiscal network port 0 was standby and port 1 active. The ports are connected to a stacked C9300 stack.
After doing some troubleshooting with configuring a virtual machine port group in same setup without any pingloss we got in contact with global support team. After long time of working with them we found the issue was resolved on vmkernel when switching the vmkernel port group configuration to active/standby so the active network port is connected to master stack switch and the passive one to the slave.
Quite strange issue which is related to VMware kernel, Brocade network card and stacked network switches only.
Has anyone face this issue before?
