Monitor NTP setting instead of service running

I can monitor if the NTP Service is running and create views or alerts of systems with NTP service stopped. But I would also like to see if they all have the correct entry. Is this possible? Since through metrics I only get yes/no values.

HI @Gabrie1

What do you mean about correct entry?

basically, you can validate if the service is up or down (0 and 1). memory and cpu consumption.

The up/down status of the service will be indicated via the AVAILABILITY metric. Service CPU and Memory metrics are available via UTILIZATION.

I would like to check if the entry is wrong even though the service is running. For example we use xxxx.ntp.org as default NTP Servers. I would like to see if that is the NTP server that is configured and not anyother.

Hi @Gabrie1

Just enable the property Security --> NTP Server in the policy for the Host System object.
After enabling the property go to a ESXi host and look for the property. It will display which NTP servers are configured for that particular host.

Kind regards,

Rick
