Hello guys im new to this software and im trying to work through the features of it.
About defining a metric set, i configured the xml file and place it in /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/tomcat-enterprise/webapps/vcops-custom/WEB-INF/classes/resources/reskndmetrics
But then nothing happened when I set the metric graph widget to display what want to see. I have attached the xml file, can you guys see whats wrong with that?
vcops version im using is 5.7.1
btw, couple more questions:
1: I pulled the attr_key from ip/vcops-custom/dbAccessQuery, Will it yield the same result from ip/dbAccessQuery? as I dont have access for it
2: I set the metric graph widget to receive selected resource, and none for metrics, and set res. kind mode to the xml wrote up, does it work this way?
3: From time to time, it will display some random generated graphs, what does that mean?

Thanks for the reply,
Still no luck for me, and its doesnt output anything
Is it right that I set the interaction on the widget to receive selected resources from a resource widget?
Btw is your xml for a generic scoreboard (which i have tried but yield no result as well)? Since I want to make a metric graph with some predefined metrics.

That res kind file will not work for everyone, aag. Remove the "attrkeyId=" areas, as those are unique to every vC Ops deployment. Occasionally, they "happen" to be the same, but that's about it.
The only thing wrong with Jimmy's original file was, they used ' characters instead of " characters. Always use " characters.
Jimmy, make sure you chmod 644 and set "admin" as the owner of that res kind interactions file, otherwise they will not work.

Thanks mark.j and aaghabekyan
cant believe i overlook the " character, and i believe the core problem is i login to putty as root.
Changing the owner to admin makes it work instantly.
Thanks again guys ![]()
