Hi guys!
Im going to evaluate the Vmware Site Recovery Manager product and im making an lab scenario.
My lab is it.
2 Sites
2 Vnxe 3150 (1 per site)
2 Vcenter server 5.8 (1 per site) windows 2008 r2 (gui español)
2 vSRM 5.8 ( 1 per site)
VNXe SRA 5.0.0 on both VCENTERS
I installed the VCENTER server and vSRM in the same host and I ready create a new database for vSRM on VIM_SQLEXP.
Everything works fine but when I will go to create array manager ( step 4 : "add array manager and enable array pair") I choose "single array manager" then when prompt me to specify parameter for this site (such as Management IP/Hostname, Username, password etc).
When I complete all of this info I press NEXT and after a few minutes I receive this error "SRA command 'discoverArrays' didn't return a response."
I look in to VSRM logs, and I have this:
--> **** Response ****
--> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
--> <Response xmlns="http://www.vmware.com/srm/sra/v2">

--> <Name>VNXe Replicator</Name>
--> <Version>1</Version>
--> </ReplicationSoftware>
--> <PeerArrays/>
--> </Array>
--> </Arrays>
--> </Response>

Hi
Seems your lab must be:
2 Sites
2 Vnxe 3150 (1 per site)
2 Vcenter server 5.5 U2 (and not 5.8 - there is no VC version 5.8) (1 per site) windows 2008 r2 (gui español)
2 vSRM 5.8 ( 1 per site)
VNXe SRA 5.0.0 on both SRM/VCENTER servers (as they are on same host) - should be installed in C:/Program Files (x86)/VMware/VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager/storage/sra/
I see you went to step 4, so your SRAs seems properly installed and discovered. Perhaps it's a problem with the SRA or your SRA is not compatible with your VNXe 3150. Could you check your VNX firmware version. You can check the compatible versions here: VMware Compatibility Guide: sra
Please, confirm the above, if everything is compatible, you can open a call with EMC and send your SAN logs to them.
Hope this helps
Ivan

Hi Ivan
Thanks for your answer!
You have right, the vcenter server version is 5.5.0 update 2 I read wrong the name on my download folder! sorry!
I confirm, the SRA has been installed on the correct path, I check in the compatibility web and they say "Firmware Version 2.4.0.20932" and in my both storage I have the firmware 2.4.3.21886, should be compatible!
I will open a SR on EMC to check this!
thanks again!

Check for the SRA logs, they should be at:
C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\scripts\SAN\<SRA Vendor Name>\log\C:\Program Files\<SRA Vendor Name>\
According to the KB article http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1021802
Good luck with your implementation.

Marcelo gracias por la respuesta!
Quick question!, I create a NFS shared folder and I configure the replication session between the storages and the "configure array manager" wizard run fine! but I need to create an array pair replication with VMFS datastores not with NFS.
This is a limitation from SRM? it only support NFS pairs in both storages?
thanks!!

Have you contacted EMC? They provide the SRA and should be able to help you.

well!
today i open a live chat session with a EMC engineer, he told me where is the problem!.
basically VNXe line does not support VMFS over ISCSI replication with SRM, only supports this replication with a Replication Manager (an EMC product).
VNXe with Site recovery manager only can replicate with NFS format. The limitation is in the storage device, not in SRM.
I will evaluate other product, even other model that supports native block replication (VNX) or other Disaster recovery solution like Veeam (to slow) or RecoverPoint.
Thanks to everyone for your help!
