This is because you have deployed Workspace Portal in connector only mode. This is only used if you want to deploy a stand alone connector instance. Please redeploy the OVF and make sure the option connector mode is not enabled.

When deploying Workspace Portal you will not be prompted for a license key.

I have the same issue: The Workspace setup wizard is asking me for the activation code. I have not selected to option (2) to deploy a stand alone connector instance.

There should be only one reason for getting the activation code question and that's when deploying in connector only mode. If you didn't activate the option something must have gone wrong during ovf deployment so please redeploy.

I have tried:

- Deploy the OVA using vSphere C# Client -> didn`t work

- Deploy the OVA using vSphere Web Client -> didn`t work (twice)

- Deploy the OVA using vSphere Web Client on another vSphere lab -> didn`t work

- Deploy the OVA using vSphere Web Client and selected connector-only -> didn`t work

There must be something wrong (workspace-portal-2.1.1.0000-2560245_OVF10.ova).

Where could I download an older Version?
