iOS Low Power Mode

We have been having challenges in our organization with devices that aren't actively used, going to sleep or whatever you want to call it.  They are on, plugged in, lock screen enabled and eventually drop off Wi-Fi.  Going to guess this isn't a new story for most people?  We are looking to implement WS1 Intelligence and one of it's features is to track devices that aren't checking in, send out notices to the owner, and if after X attempts they do not show up, to wipe the device or do whatever.  Obviously the concept of automation is cool but scary.  Does anyone know of ways to force the iPad's in this case not to go into sleep mode or low power or do whatever they want but don't drop the Wi-Fi?  I read about settings for the AP's that can keep devices from dropping, but  not sure my network team will be willing to try them, so thought I would see if others had this issue and what they did?

Thanks.
