VPN Tunneling for Web Link Apps

Hello, after several days of research and attempted workarounds I have not been able to setup a VPN Tunneling for Web Link apps in Workspace ONE UEM. Could you please point me to the right direction? Besides not finding/knowing the standard procedure for this I have these related/secondary issues:
1.Necessary "Tunnel - Workspace ONE" is added as public app to Workspace console so I can install it to my Android device, but this app does not show up either in the Catalog neither the managed Play Store.
2."Tunnel - Workspace ONE" cannot be edited, deleted or re-added in my Workspace console.

Please help.

Thanks.

A clarification on point 1. The TWO app can be installed in my phone only through Play Store in mac desktop. (The TWO app does not show up in Android phone device's Play Store). Installation is confirmed in mac desktop Play Store. And the TWO app is not in catalog nor phone's Play Store.

You should be able to configure VPN tunnelingen using WS1 Web app to open your Web apps.

Hi, I got the Tunnel app installed in my android device. When I open it I get a message saying that no apps are administered. My expectation was to have Chrome of Firefox there so Web Link apps get connected in a secure way.

Another finding that might be related is that Hub/This device/Profiles/Per-App VPN EBS OCI Android shows as "Not compatible", other three certificates are there also as not compatible. "Per-App VPN EBS OCI Android" is the profile we work with.

Please let me know your suggestions.

Not familiar with using Chrome in a secure way. We encountered multiple DLP and security related issues using native or third party browsers for web apps. My advice would be to test out VMware Web as it offers both DLP and security measures that enables your users to securely access web apps.

Setting up VPN Tunneling for Web Link apps in VMware Workspace ONE UEM can be a complex process, and it's important to follow the correct steps to ensure everything works as expected. Here are some steps and troubleshooting tips to help you get started:

  1. Check Prerequisites:

    • Make sure you have the necessary licenses and permissions to configure VPN Tunneling in Workspace ONE UEM.
    • Ensure that your Android device is enrolled in Workspace ONE UEM and has the appropriate profiles and settings applied.
  2. Configure VPN Tunneling Profile:

    • In the Workspace ONE UEM console, navigate to "Devices & Users" > "Profiles & Resources" > "Profiles" and click "Add" to create a new profile.
    • Select the platform (Android) and the profile type (VPN).
    • Configure the VPN settings, including the server details, authentication method, and any other required parameters. Make sure to enable the "Per-App VPN" or "Tunnel" option, depending on your version of Workspace ONE UEM.
    • Assign this VPN profile to the appropriate devices or device groups.
  3. Publish the Web Link App:

    • Ensure that the Web Link app you want to use with VPN Tunneling is added to the Workspace ONE UEM console. You can do this by going to "Apps & Books" > "Applications" and adding the app.
    • Configure the app to use the VPN Tunneling profile you created in step 2. You can do this by editing the app's settings and specifying the VPN profile under the "Network" or similar section.
  4. Catalog Visibility:

    • The "Tunnel - Workspace ONE" app should be automatically added to the Workspace ONE UEM console when you configure VPN Tunneling. However, if it's not showing up in the catalog or managed Play Store, you may need to check the app's configuration.
    • Make sure the app is assigned to the correct user groups and device profiles to ensure visibility.
    • Verify that the app is compatible with your Android devices.
  5. Troubleshooting "Tunnel - Workspace ONE" App:

    • If you're unable to edit, delete, or re-add the "Tunnel - Workspace ONE" app, it could be due to permission issues. Ensure that you have the necessary administrative rights to manage apps in Workspace ONE UEM.
    • Contact VMware support if you encounter persistent issues with the app management.
  6. Testing:

    • Enroll a test Android device in Workspace ONE UEM with the VPN and Web Link app profiles applied.
    • Test the VPN Tunneling functionality by launching the Web Link app and verifying that it can access the internal resources through the VPN.
