Unable to open attachments in Boxer

Good morning,

One of our users is having trouble opening attachments within Boxer. It is giving us the error code -1011. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the application, and connected to a different WIFI network with no luck. This is happening with more than one email.

Code: -1011 - Request Failed internal server error (500)

Does anyone know a fix for this issue?

Thanks,
D

No solution, but we have been seeing the same error with multiple users for over a week. Working with VMWare support right now.

Same issue as well with Boxer and working with VMware support.  For iOS if there is an attachment or image (in the body of the email), the email will remain in the Outbox and not send.  For Android if there is an image in the body of the email it appears to omit the image and send.

For attachments on iOS Boxer receive the error: "An error occured downloading the attachement. (Code: -1011 -Request failed: internal server error (500))"

For attachments on Android Boxer receive the error: " Couldn't download. Touch to retry."

Hi,

We have a site in Australia that has 800+ users who can no longer download Boxer attachments.  They all receive the same error "Code: -1011 - Request Failed internal server error (500)".

VMware are not able to provide any meaningful support and are trying to get customers to log tickets with Microsoft.  In short Microsoft are saying "not our problem, call VMware as it is their app".

Please note we are only seeing this issue with users on M365 Exchange Online and all on-prem Exchange users are OK.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi MikeAW,

Thank you for the link.

We have started testing Boxer BETA 23.03.1 with a few users and it has NOT helped the issue.  I will post back as soon as we have any updates.

Thanks,

UPDATE:  Apart from downloading and installing Boxer 23.03.1+ you need to "Disable Multi Part Header" and it resolves the issue.

To make this change you can do it globally or individually using the one of the options below:

  • Account level KVP: DisableASAcceptMultiPartHeader set to true
  • Within the App -  Go to Settings->Advanced->Enable Features->Disable Multi Part Header set to ON

Thank you GaryCutriGaryCu,

This is currently affecting all users in our tenant as well.

With Boxer 23.03.1 for iOS Beta from TestFlight with Disable Multi Part Header set to ON, we also confirmed :

  • If there is an attachment or image (Boxer beta in the body of the email), the email will send.
  • For attachments and images on Boxer beta (from TestFlight) are available.

We reported this information to VMware support noting of your post in the forum and requirement Disable Multi Part Header set to ON for Boxer 23.03.1 iOS Beta from TestFlight for resolution.
