I am set to deploy a fleet of Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+'s throughout our company. When speaking with a VMWare support rep, they said to accomplish the needed updates that to set these in the hidden apps. Which I understand, but unsure if I need this total of 6 hidden apps to accomplish that. This is what they suggested...
-Google Play (com.android.vending)
-Samsung Desk Phone Manager (com.android.sdm)
-Samsung Software Update (com.wssyncmldm)
-Samsung SDM Viewer (com.samsung.sdm.sdmviewer)
-Google Mobile Devices (com.google.android.gms)
Besides the Google Play Store ((com.android.vending) for app updates across the devices and possibly the Samsung Software Update (com.wssyncmldm), I fail to see the benefits of most of these.
These devices are not to be used as a phone, but just basic access to edit documents and get out to corporate websites. I have a system update profile on WS1 UEM that is set to "Install Updates Automatically". Do I need a hidden app as well for the Samsung devices to receive updated security patch levels?
