Hi,
has anybody tested the new VMware People Search app?
I set the people search flag within Workspace One und configured the AD sync.
I configured the profile within Airwatch like it is described in the People search Admin guide.
After starting the app I always the „People search isn‘t configured. Please contact your Administrator“
Any ideas?
Configuring People Search requires two steps..
1. vIDM and enable People Search and the attributes..
2. Configure Custom Settings in AirWatch to set app behavior and defaults.
Sample configuration is as below:
{ "
allowAddToContacts": true,
"emailUsing": "Boxer",
"openUrlUsing": “AWBrowser”,
"policyAllowCrashReporting": true,
"policyAllowMetrics": true,
"tenantHost": "workspaceone.example.com”
}
I see your setting have the German " where the first one is not at the top.. Not sure if that makes any difference or not..
One of the native seems to be misspelled as well..
I changed to the english „“ and corrected the speeling without luck.
Is a SSO profile needed for people search?
No don't think SSO is needed..
I have these notes as well:
Issue:
People Search app is not configured for a particular OG OR the App was not assigned to the device
Debug steps:
Login to the AW instance, go to Apps (on the configured OG), click on the PS App and check for the assignment (smart groups)
Yes these are basic steps 🙂
For me it seems that the people search app ignores the tenantHost configuration or is not able to login.
But I have no chance to debug.
Tomorrow I can have a look in the firewall to see if there is any incomming connection after starting People search.
I am having the same issue with People Search, and when People Search is open, it sees my device as "non-complaint" and sends an Enterprise Wipe to the device.
Hub Services has People Search enabled but I have not set any custom configuration for the application.
To be clear, when applying the custom configuration, will I be using the custom configuration that is contained within the Policies settings, image attached for verification.
