Need to skip iOS 17.4 update

We have been informed that the iOS 17.4 breaks bar code reading on our iPhones and iPads. I need to prevent the updating of our devices to this version. We already have a 30 delay to updates set and in going into Device Updates have selected Pause, but I am not sure if I need to manage assignments, and choose smart groups to "Pause", or if hitting pause without assignments pauses for the whole fleet. In assignment status it shows as paused.

There is a description saying "As an admin, you can even pause any updates that have been assigned". So I assume that we should assign the update to make paused.

By the way, it seems that some barcode reader app manufacturers have resolved the issue of not being able to read barcodes on iOS 17.4 by making modifications to the app itself.
For example, there is a medical supplies inventory management app for Japan linked below.
Regarding this app, the release notes state, ``We have fixed an issue where barcode reading could not be performed correctly on iOS 17.4.''

You may have already considered this, but if you haven't, why not contact the manufacturer of the app you are using?

Thank you for the reply. Our application vendor has asked us to skip the iOS 17.4 installation, so I don't see a fix from their side. I had paused the deployment of this iOS version as shown in your link.
