Managing AppleID's with AirWatch

Hello,

I was wondering how everyone else is handling AppleID's when a user is no longer with the company and they have setup an AppleID on a company owned device during their employee

Does AirWatch have any ability to remove AppleID's from phones?

Thank you

You can try the "Disable Activation Lock" item under More Actions before the device is deleted or erased but we have not had great luck with that. If the user is not available to enter their credentials to remove the Apple ID the device can be removed from their account if they are able to log in to icloud.com, assuming you can still get a hold of them. If the iPhone has been erased and is still activation locked without being able to get a hold of the former employee then you can contact Apple support with proof of purchase and they can unlock the phone. This can take a couple weeks to process. Apple has been able to verify it is owned by your company if the device is still registered in Apple's DEP (Device Enrollment Program) or ADE (Automated Device Enrollment - also known in VMware as Automated Device Enrollment Program!) as listed in either ASM (Apple School Manager) or ABM (Apple Business Manager)! The best solution is to make the employee sign out of their Apple ID when turning in the phone at the end of their employment.
