Mail attachment getting removed without a policy

Dear Forum,

We have Exchange on-prem and users are using the native iPhone Mail app or Android mail app to access email.

From last week, Email has "Attachment removed by mobile email policy" message and attachments are getting removed from the phones. It is happening to both iPhones and Android.

The email attachment policies for both managed and non-managed devices are not even turned on.

Under Email > Compliance Policies > Email Security Policies.

Is there any other places I am missing that could potentially causing this?

Users are receiving emails fine with the attachment on the computer using Outlook (Not managed by Workspace), so we know this is not happening at the Exchange level, must be at MDM level.

Any advice will be appreicated!

Thank you all so much!

Regards,

Hi @Benzilla1 ,

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes we have worked out eventually with VMware support.

Here is what happened:

1st, you need to make sure the following settings is correct on the UEM console.

All Settings - Email - Configuration, pick your SEG servers and select Advanced option.
Scroll all the way down and make sure "Attachments" are allowed.

2nd, you need to check your SEG servers.

In our case, the SEG servers (On-Prem Windows servers) have stopped communicating with the UEM console at some level. The setting from the console is not flowing through to the SEG servers.

Log on to your SEG servers, go to Airwatch installation directory.

Usually, it is C:\Airwatch\SecureEmailGateway and open config.json file.

Search the line contentTransformationConfig and make sure below

"allowAttachmentUntilPolicyIsDataReady":true

Do the above two steps on each SEG server.

Best of luck.

I tried many solutions online , but finally solved it by changing the mail fetch settings.
