I am using WORKSPACE ONE UEM WITH AIRWATCH.
I have encountered some iPadOS version control issues.
The scenario is:
1. In order to prevent end user accidentally update iPadOS, the IT department presets 90 days IOS update delayed.
2. The controlled ipads installed with 4 apps of third party, as an Ipad Admin I have to confirm the reliability and comptability of each individual app with the person in charge. The back and forth information exchanged may take upto a month. The evaluation normally takes more than a month (including waiting for third party's confirmation letter). Apple normally releases new iPadOS every month.
3. By the time I request IT department to disable iOS updated delayed, apple has already released a newer version of iPadOS. I can only see the latest iPadOS available for download from the ipads (normally it will appear more than one iPadOS for user discretion,e.g my personal ipad). I tried to assign the desired iPadOS version from RESOURCE > DEVICE UPDATE > IOS, and the iPad will not respond. I also tried to publish the desired version under DEVICE > DETAILS VIEW > UPDATES and the downloads either won't start or stuck at 57% , nothing happens at all.
My question is:
1. Why does workspace one UEM cannot assign or published the desired iPadOS version to the iPads in my case? Is this because the 90 days iPadOS delayed blocked the ipad from preload various version of iPadOS? If that's the case, the options of selecting different versions of iPadOS download is misleading and not very useful at all.
2. How can you manage to resolve the conflicts between policy of delayed iPadOS updates and iPadOS preload mechanism?
3. How to download desired iPadOS version when a newer verion of iPadOS is released.
Please kindly provide any suggestion or any know how.
