Boxer url's in email and proofpoint

Since switching to proofpoint for email security when you get an email with a url link in it and click on it your local browser will open but it loads to the site for proofpoint saying the url may be mailware so it blocks it, but this is only in boxer, all other email clients load the url fine. We are using SEG so not sure if boxer is adding in some extra hop that proofpoint thinks is a redirection ?

Are you talking specifically about ProofPoint's URL Defense? I experienced an issue with this in the past, I believe because of the way Boxer used URL schemes to open in the legacy Browser. URLS were being rewritten twice, once by ProofPoint and once by AirWatch. I can dig through my old notes and cases to try to find more detail if the scenario is similar.

I misspoke, this was an issue found when testing the Inbox mail app and only impacted iOS devices. Android Inbox was ok as was Boxer on both platforms. For us, when you looked at the URL in the address bar when clicked on from Outlook, you'd see something like ' https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https'  followed by the URL of the site. But when that same link was tapped in iOS Inbox, you'd see ' https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=awbs-'  followed by the URL. In each case ProofPoint could not resolve the site (notice awbs appended vs https), rendering all links invalid. We had opened a case with AirWatch on it, but ultimately moved forward with Boxer which at the time was not impacted. Take a look at the URLS and see if this is happening. I no longer work for that company, but reached out to an old colleague there. They do not use SEG, but don't currently have this problem between ProofPoint/Boxer/Web, so maybe it's something specific to SEG. Hope this helps, good luck!

So did some more testing and this only an issue if you have chrome set for the default browser in boxer, if you set it back to safari it loads fine
