Android Paid Apps on Android Enterprise device

Hi, is there a way to allow paid apps in the google play store work ? i.e. access for Work Managed devices to go via the play store and install a paid app.

If I go to log into 'https://play.google.com/work' and search for a paid app it finds the app but says its unavailable so I am not able to import it into AirWatch.

Example App : IP Cam Viewer Pro

' Buying apps that support bulk licenses is currently available to customers in the U.S. and Canada.
You must be a registered managed Google Play administrator. Your administrator account also must have a Google Account with an associated payment card.'

Thanks Benn, looks like we will have to wait and hope that this gets expanded as we are in Europe.

Ben,

Once apps are 'approved' via Managed Google Play store. How we do deploy it to users via AirWatch console?

As public apps?

Thanks,

Hi Travis,
yes under 'Apps & Books/Applications/Native/Public click on 'Add Application, chose Android as Platform an as Source chose 'Import from Play', click on next and wait until the pop up opens where you can chose which of your approved apps you wish to import.

If you don't see 'Import from play' then Android Enterprise is not setup in the AW console or at least not on the OG.

Thanks for your response, Kevin! I was able to import it successfully.

Does it still prompt users for username/password to install or work like Apple's device-based licensing where no Apple ID is required?

Thanks,

It should work as with Apple VPP. Silent install without the end user needing an account.

When an Android device is enrolled under Android Enterprise it will automatically be assigned a work account (you can see this in the google play store app on the device). There is no need for a user account. That's one of the advantages with Android Enterprise.
