vmware query

Is it possible through a vmware virtual pc to have access at the physical hardware and that the simulated?

If i didn't make myself clear i want to know for example the mac address of the install network adapter that

has the "physical" pc through the whatever simulated workstation.

any help is appreciated and thank you for your time.

A VM can't access the physical hardware (the exception being the CPU, USB devices (not available in ESX) and raw disks / RDMs)

Which VMware product are you using? VMs won't be able to access your physical NICs so the VM won't be able to find out the MAC address. It will actually have it's own MAC address and there are some ways to set that to a static address if that's what you need. The exception is if you're using VMware workstation and you have a USB attached NIC.
