vmts backup and restore

as i understood vmts does the snapshots of the VM guest. So if the VM has been deleted permanently it will not help me to restore, correct?

In case of data was deleted than I can restore the snapshot....

Snapshots only allow you to roll back a VM to a particular period of time. You are correct if the VM is deleted or lost a snapshot will not allow you to restore unless used in conjuction with Vmware VCB which uses snapshots to do full backups of the vmdk files that make up the VM.

As stated snapshots can be used for rolling back your VM to a point in time ( when the snapshot was created ). If the VM was permantly deleted then the snapshot can not be used, you need the base disk.
