Take a look at this just released program by VMware. Hopefully it will be able to do what you require.

I wanted to know exact way to get os memory dump on ESX4.0.. something like command.

At least i'd like to know if it is able to get os memory dump or not..

If you take a closer look, the utility works on both VMs running on workstation and ESX(i) 4.0 .... I missed it the first time, good to go through the document carefully.

Is possible get Guest OS memory dump on vmware??

Memory dumps for at least every version of Windows has been there since windows 95. So this capability is from the Guest OS, not necessarily VM ware specific.

And when you say "execute" a dump, what exactly are you trying to acheve? a dump is just that, a state of error that caused the OS to fail, but it only gives you the memory contents at the time the OS crashed, and unless you programmed the OS I doubt you will find this information helpful, which is why certain apps have their own dump.

おはようございます石川さん。

I was thinking the same as you when I first read the post. However, after I read the entire blog page it states how to obtain dumps from all of VMware's programs.

Although vmss2core ships with Workstation 7, it is capable of analyzing checkpoints and suspended VMs created by many of VMware earlier products. It works with both with desktop products , e.g. Workstation, and ESX. All you need to do is to create a checkpoint or suspend a VM, then copy out files corresponding to checkpoint to Linux and Windows Host, and run vmss2core with option specifying what output you want to get.

If you have any questions about the program the forum community http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/general/guestdebugmonitor
