Virtual Appliance for Capacity Bottlenecks

I am looking for some suggestions on a virtual appliance such as VKernal. Has anyone had any experience with this product or can someone recommend another appliance that will offer the same sort of features as VKernal.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Have seen the previous versions VKernel in action - it is OK.

Had a good chat with the VKernel guys at VMworld07

If you are interested in lifecycle management + chargeback, VMware Lifecycle Manager is due for release soon.

If its just for capacity bottlenecks, I have found the old fashioned method works best - use SAN reporting utils much better in identifying LUN contention / controller utilisation / multipathing issues etc...

you can download the VKernel 15day trial here...

Have you checked Tek-Tools Profiler? (www.tek-tools.com). Tek-Tools hasn't published their Virtual Appliance yet but the installer is a single component and takes 5 minutes to install on any Windows, Linux or Solaris VM. Profiler covers storage, backups, servers, virtualization and a lot more. Check it out.

Good luck!
