VMware tools not working - Ubuntu 22.04

Hello. First off let me start by saying that I have absolutely 0 experience working with Ubuntu, linux, or visualization in general. I had tried to cross copy paste between my Host Win10 pro computer and my ubuntu and saw I need vmware tools. After trying to install twice(direct install through the app and through terminal) and twice getting Seg error I saw online seg error occurs due to the fact Ubuntu 22.04 already comes with VMware tools installed. However, when trying to activate it I cannot find it installed. the interface still gives me an option to install VMware tools as if it isnt there and Going to the options through the settings menu only has an option to synchronize the virtual and host clock timers. Am I missing something? doing something wrong?

thanks in advance.

@OmerSheinbox,

Ideally you need to install open-vm-tools here, please refer below article:
