I'm looking at virtualizing a phyiscal server, but I have one question I can't find the answer to. The server I want to virtualize has two hard drives (100GB & 800GB).
My question, will VMWare Converter only make a VM that has two virtual hard drives; one 100GB and the other 800GB? Problem is my Hypervisor doesn't have 900GB free. I'm hoping that it will only copy over the space used, and let me set a buffer of hard drive space. Feedback welcomed!

You can choose to resize the destination volumes as part of the process. As long as you have the needed amount of space free, you will be fine.
Good Luck!

Hi,
You can resize the disk drives when you make the cloning with Converter. Besides, as part of the process, you can change the disk type to use thin provisioning, in order to make more efficient the storing.
