VCP Logo - New?

Good morning all,

Quick question, the VCP logos that I found in http://www.vmware.com/services/vcp/ are different than the ones I've seen out there (the regular box with the word CERTIFIED in black, the word VMWARE in white w/ black background and the word PROFESSIONAL in black - right on top of each other). Are the ones in the VCP site new? If they are, is there new usage guidelines (because I believe the usage guideline in that address is still referring to the use of the old/familiar logo - or is it the same?)?

Have a good one,

jandie

The logos that you see there are the new logos that go along with the VCP on VI3. As far as I am aware, the usage guidelines are the same.

I dont like the new logo, its too wide to fit onto my CV. Why did it have to change size/shape from the rest of the usual logos Microsoft, Citrix etc.

Now it won't line up Smiley Sad Will I get into trouble for using the Black one??????

I like the new logos, I think I might be one of the few, but I don't think there is a problem with using the old ones.

Quick update (replies from VMware):

Hi Johan,

The logos available on the website are the most current versions.

Unfortunately the guide available is out of date. Generally speaking, the

blue/black logo is dependant on the background color. A white background gets

a blue logo, all other colors get black.

---

Johan,

The only guidelines that apply are as follows (and remain the same from the usage guide currently posted)

The logo should be printed with a margin of at least .15 inches (40mm) from the edge of a business card, and at least .5 inches (125mm) from the edge of stationery. The logo should not bleed off the edge of either a card or stationery.

I think there definitely needs to be a correction made to this, for us Europeans 40mm = 4cm which would almost place the logo entirely off the edge of the business card... or did I just miss the dot ??

1 inch = 2.54 cm

1 cm = 10 mm

40 mm = 4 cm

40 millimeter = 1.574 803 149 600 000 1 inch

Exactly, so the usage guidelines should be changed as follows:

Original:

The logo should be printed with a margin of at least .15 inches (40mm)

from the edge of a business card, and at least .5 inches (125mm) from

the edge of stationery. The logo should not bleed off the edge of

either a card or stationery.

Recommended:

The logo should be printed with a margin of at least .15 inches (4mm)

from the edge of a business card, and at least .5 inches (12.5mm) from

the edge of stationery. The logo should not bleed off the edge of

either a card or stationery.
