V2P conversion

Does anyone have experience converting a Virtual image of a Dell Windows Server back to a different Dell server? If so, please share your experience.

You can use same tools for P2P, like Symantec BESR or Acronis True Image.

There are also some specific tools that can do V2P (have a look at PlateSpin products).

Hey Nolan,

When I first wanted to do this I found that there is not a lot of great documentation out there. I can send you my notes though, they are pretty good, and even VMware asked to see them aways back. Sometime in the next four months, I will have a book coming out and my notes will be documented in there!
