To virtualise or not to virtualise - "Microsoft Office Communications Server"

Hi Everyone

I've been told that it is impossible to virtualise the above due to problems with time-synch or clock cycles or something - I guess in the same way that people used to be reticent about virtualising AD controllers etc.

Has this been fixed in 3.5 U3 ?

Has anyone actually virtualised MS Office Comms Server?

Many thanks.

We have OCS fully virtualised , no time sync problems as far as I'm aware. ( 3.5 U2 )

Hi Chris - that's good to know but is there any documentation out there which might corroborate your experience with this App? I need to convince my boss that we cvan indeed vortualise it but need some documentary evidence....

Thanks.

I can't release any internal documentation of course , but I'll have a chat with one of the Architecture guys - OCS isn't on SVVP (yet) but we are using it for a large organisation without problems - having the correct time sync on the hosts probably helps.

I set up a proof of concept with 1000 users and had no issues with it virtualized
