Resource deadlock avoided - When trying to delete the vmware.log file

I want to delete many log files like vmware-10654.log ... But it gives me error like 'Resource deadlock avoided'. Not able to delete the files.

Please suggest on this

How did you fix this (if you did)?

I also got "Resource deadlock avoided" after I tried to clone (vmkfstools -i) one of my disks. The clone operation failed and I wanted to remove the failed cloned disk and start the operation again but I got that annoying error when trying to delete the failed cloned disk file. I can't remove it but I need to 'cause it takes up too much space.
