Hi, we have a couple of Windows NT 4.0 servers which run small but vital systems which cannot be made to run on Windows 2003.
I have run VM Converter to get images of the machines and the VM starts OK but they do not appear on the network.
The VM NIC is bridged and the host is windows 2000 server.
Have you tried re-configuring networking on the NT VM?
Ask the obvious questions:
IP subnet issue? Our servers sure as heck aren't in the same subnet as our workstations so a p2v from the server subnet to my laptop the VM will work sure, but it won't work on the network until I set it to DHCP.
I've dealt with the conversion as I have a number of NT servers spread across different networks and we have the issue of newer hardware not supporting NT. We converted the old server to a VM and put them on a Win2k3 host machine. You may want to check and make sure the NT VM recognizes the VMware network driver and that your settings are configured properly. At times you'll have to tweak a VM converted over from a physical machine.
Thanks Guys It appears that my NIC card is incompatible.
