Hi,
I remember reading something a while ago now about there being a maximum speed that a VMFS can be written to.... Dose anyone have any information or links on this? or is it simply restricted by you network speed?
Many Thanks,
Chris
I'm not sure there is a maximum speed beyond whatever your disk subsystem supports. However, there was a lot of discussion around the time 3.0 came out and write speeds were slower than BETAs were and seemed slower than ESX 2.x.
Thanks for the help, i looked further into the speed issue i was having and it turned out to be the physical network switch.
Currently it is running at the maximum for a 100Mb switch so if the speed becomes a problem the switches will have to be replaced with Gb switches.
Thanks Again,
Chris
