The statement seems to imply that Microsoft will embed in Windows Server 2008 the OS virtualization technology Virtuozzo, with an OEM agreement.
Does this mean that Microsoft buys th following missing features?
- Dynamic Resource Allocation - CPU, memory, network, disk and I/O can be changed without re-booting.
- Live Migration - Business continuity capabilities including live migration ensure data is available and recoverable.
Maybe they put more features from virtuozzo
8 years later the way goes in the direction of Containers , as now docker Comes up.
As Microsoft did not buy swsoft(parallels) in 2008, they now come up with Windows nano Server next year.
