How does vSphere work with external faxes and USB License keys?

I plan on P2Vng a couple of servers, but one of them has an external modem for faxing. Another server has a USB license key.

Will these cause problems? Will I be able to virtualize these?

Hello,

Even though vSphere 4.1 supports USB passthrough I still think a USB over IP device will work better as with this you do not pin a VM to any given host. HA, DRS, FT still work.

Your post has been moved to the Virtualization Technology forum. vSphere 4.1 supports USB passthrougth which will take care of the USB license key. For serial modems you typically employ a Serial over IP device to make a modem network accessible.
