Hi Guys,
Recently attended interview for a good company, they grind me for 3 rounds and then rejected.
The questions which I fumbled upon were as follows:
1. If you have 8 ESX hosts in a cluster and 240 Vms, how the allocation of CPU is possible?
2. What is the use case for V2V conversion
3. How you will add new ESX host to the existing cluster- Steps?
4. When you build a clone of Windows server there is a SID associated with it what happens to that?
5. Which logs you will check predominantely to check issues with VMs and ESX server?
6. How does SRM talk to the storage on the DR site?
Could you guys please help me with practical answers to these questions as I am facing some more interviews in coming weeks.
Thanks so much for all the help in thi regard
Regards

Good luck!
Thanks a lot vmroyale.... it will be of great help.
Please let me know some more questions that can be supposedly asked in case I may be unprepared.
Thanks again
This looks more like a certification (VCP) test to me. To prepare for this type of scenario your should check out the VMware Certification resources. On the VCP-DV page you find an Exam Blueprint and a practice exam at the bottom right. That should give you more hands-on experience with questions like these. You also might want to check out the VCP Forum.
A side note (truly my 2c only): I find these questions tricky for an interview. When I joined VMware over 7 years ago I did have gaps in my detailed technical knowledge of some areas. But I had a very strong industry background, consulting references, and I knew a lot about applications, databases, and other topics. And now I get on very well here, because over the years I learned all I was missing.
Hi Frank,
Thanks for that insight.
As you rightly stated, the more I will get a chance to work on prod environments the more I will learn.
My current position is absolutely not allowing me to do that and hence I am trying hard to get into the mainstream ASAP.
Anyways, thanks for the links on VCP-DV, which I have just completed in Feb.
Cheers!
