Connecting to a webserver hosted on a virtual machine

So I decided to stuff around a bit in windows server 2003. And as I didn't want to make a dual boot PC, I thought that the VMware products might be a good solution for this. So I installed VMware player and created an image with windows server 2003.

So I decided to start off with a simple web server to host an old website I created a while ago. It works fine and all when I try to connect to the web server from the virtual machine and from the host machine. But, my question now is: how would I connect from another PC in the network (or even a computer outside the network) to the webserver running on the virtual machine. Or is this not possible at all?

Sorry if this sounds stupid, since I'm kinda new to VMWware products.

If you set up VMware %productname% networking properly then you won't see any difference from outside whether it's a physical or virtual machine.

Hello,

For VMware WOrkstation/Player/Server you need to use a 'bridged' network for connectivity to the outside. If you use ESX/ESXi just make sure the vSwitch is connected to a pNIC which is connected to the outside. But without knowing which product you are using it is hard to direct your question to the proper group.
