Hey guys and gals (are there any gals here?)

I opened my mailbox last night and what did I find; my hard earned Board Warrior Shirt!

Oh Yeah! Has anyone else gotten theirs yet?

Users who reach enthusiast level get one.

Since they deliver the shirts form 2006 it will take a while until the shirts from 2007 will be delivered.

I think being in the top 10 in the forums, or reaching a certain status or icon level. Not totally sure though.

Since they reorganized the processing I'd expect it to be in Q3/Q4 2007.

Quoting Robert Dell'Immagine:

the shirts were shipped to people who qualified in 2006. We'll send another round in July to people who qualified in the first half of 2007.

Thanks to all of you for your participation, and yes, we realize it is better all the way around if we ship the shirts in a more timely fashion. We're working on it.

You get a shirt at a pretty low level -- 50 pt Enthusiast -- because everybody should feel like they're a part of the community. So feel free to ask a question, or answer one.

Being able to answer questions here is a very concrete step to mastery of the VMware virtualization platform, and in the whole spirit of "teaching to learn," you might be surprised at how much you know before too long (and how many points you rack up!)

That's pretty normal. Not every shrit will one day tunnel into real existence.

See definition of shrits:

1. What is a "shrit" ?

A shrit is so to say a very early (virtual) stage in the life-cycle of a shirt.

A stage where the shirt itself hardly even exists at all,

more like "apt to be a shirt one day" - or a promise for a shirt ...

A shrit relates to a shirt like egg to chicken.

An egg may turn into a chicken one day - it also may remain a simple egg forever.

Problem is - you will never be able to predict the course of events.

You will never be able to predict the date when your shrit turns into a shirt.

2. Has it ever happened that a VMware-shrit did tunnel into real existence ?

Sure - I can confirm that this may happen - I once received a board warrior shirt -

though that was back in the days when a shirt was still a shirt -

who can tell that nowadays ?

3. Will this happen to VMware virtual machines as well ?

You mean - will my virtual machines one day convert into a real machine ?

Sorry - this is subject to a lot of speculation. Most experts do expect time-frames

like 2 years and more before there is a higher than zero chance for a

virtual machine to tunnel into real existance.

Recently rumours stated that deep down in Kasachsstan a VMware-virtual machine (WS3)

tunneled into real existance. Lucky coincidence was that nobody was at home - so nobdy was hurt.

Police reports later explained the unexpected existence of this computer with

a shop-theft incident some weeks before. Don't know if this sources are trustworthy ...
