when the upgrade vm hardware version feature is not visible?

Hi,

I have known that

if the VM hardware version has already reached the maximum level of respective host version. Suppose, for ESXi host 5.5, it is 10.

if the VM is in powered on state

Please let me know further inputs and correct me if I am wrong in the above assumptions.

It's difficult to understand precisely what you're asking, but yes, if you've already reached the maximum hardware version level supported by that host, you won't be prompted to upgrade further.
