Hello.

1. what different beteen VSS driver and SYNC driver?

The SYNC driver holds incoming I/O and flushes all dirty data to a disk, which makes snapshots file‐system consistent. Some applications don't like the way that SYNC works though. For Windows 2003, the VSS driver gets you application consistency, for apps that support it. For Windows 2008, the VSS driver gets you file-system consistency. The obvious advantage of VSS is that it is Microsoft's own product. The differences are detailed in the Virtual Machine Backup Guide.

2. do i need to upgrade all my VMs from SYNC driver to VSS driver?

Its probably more important for SQL, Exchange and other applications that can utilize VSS.

3. have any procedrue when i upgrade?

Check out kb 1009886

Good Luck!
