Hi, we have got some problems with one of our virtual machines.
We have installed w2k3 r2 + sp2 with two ip address on one virtual NIC and it looks like after some time got some problems with accessing the serve.
The behaviour is really wierd because if I stared pinging the server from one host
and try to ping it from another host from within the same subnet the virtual host is not responding to the second one.
We have obeserved that if we touched the vm's console the server is starting responding from the second host.
The PowerOptions are off on the w2k3 r2 system.
Any ideas?

Do you get the same behavior if you add a second vNIC - assign it the second IP address - and connect it to the same virtual switch?
Which IP are you pinging when your server does not respond from the 2nd host? Is it the primary IP address, or the secondary virtual IP?

Hi,
the problem is resolved - we have found a hidden address which was not visible trough tcp/icmp but was responsible for dual arp mac anwsers (tested by arping)
Thnx,
k
