during failover from NIC 2 to Nic 1, vm window vm guest crashed with blue screen. any seguestion? the setup that i have is
2 Built in Broadcom NICs
iSCSI Software SW
VM Window 2003 x86 buslogic
Was this a P2V or a new installation? Windows 2003 should really be using the LSI controller. Do you have NIC2 set as the primary & NIC1 set as standby?
Do you have the Microsoft iSCSI initiator installed in the VM?
i am doing cva testing and i have 8 vm guests( window 2003/bus, window 2003/lsi, redhat5u2/lsi, sles10/bus) on host esx 3.5 server. the test case that i am doing is multi-initiator software ISCSI Nic Failover. so, basically, there is I/O stress running all on vm guests and disabled one nic for failover. there are 2 NICs as NIC teaming and both of them are active/active. the failure that i have is window 2003 buslogic vm guests crashed with blue screen ( 0x000000F4) when NIC 2 is disabled. No failure on the other guests. Another thing is i stopped the iozone stress and manually, disabled the NIC, no failure. but with CVA test tool, i am getting the failure. please see the attached for logs. the setup that i have is
host - ESX 3.5
vm guests - window 2003 buslogic
NIC - 2 Broadcom Nics
here is the output from cva test tool,

Is there a reason you have to use the Buslogic controller on those VMs? it is suspicious that none of your LSI VMs are having trouble & VMware recommends against th Buslogic controller for ESX.
