restore from Windows Home Server backup?

Anyone successfully restore vmware workstation from Windows Home Server (WHS) backup without reinstall OS first? Can you share the info?

I had a vmware workstation running XP and WHS connector, backed up to WHS. My HD crashed and lost the vmware image files. I tried to run WHS restore iso CD trying to restore from WHS backup. But no network detection during WHS restore iso run, so no access WHS to restore. Any tip or how to get it to work? Or do I need to reinstall XP OS, install VMware tool to have network dectected, and then re run WHS restore iso?

Hello,

i had the same Problem. I have found the Ssolution:

You have to change the networkadapter from "flexible" to "E1000".

Then you can Restore from WHS. I use this because it is faster than reinstall Smiley Happy
