reinstall vm guest os

Hi,

I have a guest vm running os ESX 3, but I want to reinstall the guest OS. Do I have to destroy the current guest then create a new one or can I just boot off of the cdrom and then reinstall on top?

thanks,

You should be able to just reboot and reinstall.

ok, thanks.

When I boot the vm I can't seem to connect to my install iso fast enough to boot off of.

I'll try coping the iso to the host and reconfigure the vm to connect to the iso upon boot up.

You typically have to reset the VM once you open up the console to it and then try again. It can also help to connect directly to the ESX host with the VI client rather than going via VC if that's your case.

Ok, I got it, I did a Ctrl-Alt-Insert a couple of times and hit Esc then the prompt came up to choose what to boot off of.

thanks,
