power on vm on vSphere client installed on virbualbox virtual machine

Hi guys,

I'm using virtualbox for a while and would like to deploy a vmware environment inside virtualbox

Just installed the ESXi 5.5 & vSphere client, could see the client console, create resourcepool vm etc., however, when I tried to power on a vm, it always gave me this error: Failed to start the virtual machine.

there's no more error or details displayed.

is it okay to deploy VMware in virtualbox or how can I power on the vm in VMware?

Thanks!

Chris

is this a 32bit OS based VM which you are trying to power on in Nested ESXi host or 64 bit VM?

Just in case message which is coming out is not being very helpful. Please upload vmware.log of that VM to see exact reason why it's not powering on.

thanks and they're all 64 bit.

I've found some more error on the console which is "You are running VMware ESX through an incompatible hypervisor. You cannot power on a virtual machine until this hypervisor is disabled“ and followed the kb solution on VMware KB: Installing a nested virtual machine fails with the error: You are running VMware ESX thro... which is not working and the same error occurred again.

below is the piece of logs of the vm 'vm02' and the error message should be "

Vmomi.Fault.GenericVmConfigFault: Failed to start the virtual machine.
