power on virtual machine in progress

I just tried to power on a vm cloned from a template for the first time and its stuck on Power on Virtual Machine

Status in progress for over 20mins now

any idea?

Does vmware purpose you to create a new VM ID ? You can see that in the fist tab in VIC.

check the first tab indeed, if that's not the case it might be usefull to restart the virtualcenter service.

yes that was it. i had to go to vc and restart the vc service. Why is this happening?
