ping response between VM's

What i have is a vswitch with 3 VM's connected to it, each VM has 1 virtual nic installed (AMD accelerated nic). the vswitch has 2 physical nics uplinked to give access to the physical network. I tried pinging from my virtual application server to the virtual database server and it pings happily but after a random time just drops. Have you seen this before?

Regards

Pez

hmm, they complain of slow response times whereas mine actually starts dropping packets full stop. You start the ping and it replies happily the randomly after a while it stops replying?

Do you have DRS or HA running?

If yes it could be a MAC / ARP caching problems with your switches.
