not able to install guest OS for esxi server

Hi all,

I am a new user for this site.

I am facing problem with installation of guest OS(CentOS-5.3) for esxi-3.5.

I have used VI client for creation of VMs, now I need to install guest OS.

I am using SUN servers but when I have connected this to DVD drive its not detecting(showing status as "no device available" in VI client).

For installation of guest OS I am trying to use my local DVD drive of my laptop where my VI client is installed.

Thanks,

Change VM properties to give you more time during BIOS phase (note that time is in ms).

During power-on get the focus in the VM console and press ESC.

Select the CD but do not press enter!

Connect your CD or your local ISO (CD must be set on client mode).

Then get the focus on the VM console and press enter.

also make sure you have selcted the connect at power setting for the virtual cd - it is a check box on the setiings page for the cd - very easy to miss -
