moving VM to another ESXi 4.1 takes long time

Hi,

i move 1 VM to another ESXi using VMware converter, the task started yesterday 03/11/2010 but estimated completion time : 13/11/2010 (another 8 days)

is this normal? , see the attachment file.

What is the size of the machine that you are trying to convert?

What is the network bandwidth?

Have you converted other machines at a faster speed?

Do you have the issue with only this machine?

Wow dude that IS a long time...

93KB/sec?!?!? pretty darn slow - you sure your network is configured correctly? That's where I would bet my chips there is an issue.

Speed/duplex settings right? latency tests?

Unless this is an insanely large file sized VM this is NOT normal!

Hi,

after isolated both esxi servers & clients to its own network bypass network firewall, transferred only takes few hours.

glad that you have resolved the problem 😃 what i've found that block level transfer and full duplex if any is not there would tremendously slow down the conversion too.
