You need to enable SNMP in virtual machines. Then ITA will be able to discover them. Assuming you have SNMP enabled on ESX, ITA will be able to correlate the VMs with ESX server and provide some basic monitoring.

I am running ITA on a W2003 VM running under WS 6.5.1 I am not able to get any SNMP information from the VM. I have try several other tools to test the SNMP traffic from the VM and none will respond. All the managed devices have SNMP enabled and I am able to use the same tools from the host systems and get SNMP information, but I am not able to get SNMP information when the tools are running on the VM. Is there a specific setting in WS 6.5.1 to allow SNMP traffic to go through?

I have also created a couple of Windows XP VMs with SNMP enabled and I am not able to get any SNMP information from the tools running on the host.

As far as i know, Dell does not support ITA monitoring of VMs running on VMware Workstation.
