how to do P to V with ESX?

new to VMWare. This should be an easy question. We have vShere 4 and ESX 4. I need to set up a new VM dev server by clone the production one. I used VMWare converter with VMWare server before. But never done that with ESX. Can someone advice? Or point me to an article?

Thanks.

Install the standalone vmconverter on the PC itself or on the vc server...either way. Just run through the wizard and convert . Works great, have converted many that way.

You can download the VMware Converter Standalone

Manual: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/converter_standalone_guide401.pdf

Software: http://downloads.vmware.com/de/d/info/datacenter_downloads/vmware_vcenter_converter_standalone/4_0

or use the one which is integrated in vCenter. You need to install it as a plubin into the vCenter Server:
